Paradox of Immortal Soul
All shades of theists, spiritualists and religious people believe in existence of a soul in every living-being which never dies but transcends from one dying body to another body taking birth. Some pseudo-scientists claim that they have experimentally proved going away of soul from a dying body by encasing the dying person in a glass chamber. Thus, the soul nether takes birth nor dies. This means that number of souls in this universe must fixed from eternity to the present.

I won't talk here of millions of years but experiences of my life span of about 60 years. In my childhood, human population was much less than today, and so were the cattle and pets like dogs and cats. Today all these species of life are innumerable scattered all over the earth like a swarm. One thing, which I used to find in my agricultural fields be more in number than today is swarms of locusts, but all other insects overcompensate for this deficiency. I grow crops and they get instantly destroyed by worms and insects in a few days if not spray-killed.

Assuming for the time being that every plant too has a soul of its own, the paradox further deepens. With less of forests of huge trees on the earth and more of agricultural crops on the surface, the number of souls further increases. But I hope my friends would not dare to confirm this assumption because the plants do not have brains, although each one has its own mind to regulate its growth and provide other directives. Here, I need to refer my theory of two different entities - the mind and the brain - in each living body.
NOVA - World in the Balance: The Population Paradox

There are two possibilities - either many more souls have taken birth in these 60 years, or many forms of life are soulless. The spiritualists and religious fellows deny both of these. The reality of things discard their hypothesis of existence of an immortal soul in each individual of every form of life on the earth. Obviously, all these hypes are to make fool of the people and run a grand business of religions, gods and godliness.

"Atheist Church" a more counter productive and inane concept would be hard to beat

Well, it’s happened again. I was surfing the net and found an atheist site that was taking a poll of its membership asking about whether one would approve of / attend an atheist "church". I was disgusted for a number of reasons.

First, the term "church" is antithetical to atheism. A church is a place of worship, for theists. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/church They might have just as well proffered an atheist synagogue, or mosque, or coven for all the sense it makes.

Secondly, with so many confused theists calling atheism a "religion" and all the atheists working to counter that foolishness by repeating the old canards like “atheism is a religion like baldness is a hair color,” or “like NOT collecting stamps is a hobby," to be talking about an "atheist church" is giving already confused theists ammunition to renew their claim of “atheism = religion.”

Thirdly, exactly what do all atheists have in common to justify a close knit social structure akin to a theist church? Do we all share a "belief system" in common or a common "world view"? I doubt it. You don't know mine, and I don't know yours, and nothing in being atheist defines wider personal convictions or world views.

Do we feel the need for some "spiritual support" (oy!) by a group of like minded "non-believers?" Atheists share in common only one thing, the ONLY thing meant by "atheism": non-belief in God/gods. Period. Not much there around which to form a close knit church-like social structure much less one with rituals, dogma, doctrine, rites or even a secret handshake. Frankly, I wouldn’t even be attracted to a night of bingo with a room full of atheists.

Oh yes, we likely share some basic axiomatic principles, like respect for science, the need for objective evidence to accept something as a fact. Most of us accept evolutionary theory as genuine. Some large percentage of us supports equality for women, a women’s right to control her reproductive processes, and gay rights. But that isn’t atheism. That’s modernity, rationality and 21st century thinking.

The concept of a church which seeks to somehow service my needs (whatever they may be); or the needs of the “atheist community” (whatever that is), simply because we share only non-belief in God/gods, is not only unnecessary but irrational and counterproductive to how Freethinkers are perceived. That's not to say I object to atheist clubs, reading groups, discussion forums, or activist organizations to discuss issues, raise awareness and to ensure atheists’ rights and the separation of church and state are kept sacrosanct. I belong to a number of those and they serve a clear and defined purpose. But the concept of a formalized "church" is down right misguided and oxymoronic and sets back the hard won credibility of the atheist movement 50 years.
Some pathetic atheists say having our own church and going to "services" would make atheists look better, more moral and thus acceptable to believers. My response to that is: Thanks, Uncle Tom ... if I need to try and "pass" I'll let you know.

On the other hand, if by calling every atheist organization a church, mosque, synagogue or coven we all get a major tax break … count me in and call me Reverend.

The Virus of God and Religions
God is a virus and religions are its carriers which spread it through hypnotizing the people. This is the conclusion of experiences of Dr. Derrel Ray who had been involved in church work for a long time and is a psychotherapist using hypnosis to treat psychological disorders. His findings are important for the whole humanity for the reason of his involvement in the church work. Now, he is of the opinion that the God virus enters the mind through ears in the early childhood, germinates there and comes out of the mouth to spread the virus to nascent minds.  As a psychotherapist, his opines that the church services are carefully structured to achieve the same sort of hypnotic effect he was inducing in his patients. I fully agree with opinions of Dr. Ray.

Faith in God work just like the way infections do for spreading from person to person, and its carriers - the religions, hypnotize people to instill guilt in their minds and make them surrender before God for security.

The greatest asset of human race is the highly developed intellect through which it understands, works and progresses using logical derivations. This may be termed as 'humanism'. Since religions are devoid of logical derivations, these have found the way of hypnotizing people to have faith and forget about logic. The faith and logic work in ways just opposite to each other, religions are pitched against humanism to make it devoid of its greatest asset- the intellect.  Thus, religions are working to kill intellectualism.

If the religions are allowed to have their way, future humans shall be without brains and their working shall be based on just the faith in what others tell them. All sciences shall die out, and the progress of human civilization and culture made through sciences shall be undone. This shall make the humanity a wild wandering race again where might shall be right and plundering shall be the lifestyle. It is now, we need to act fast to save the humanity from onslaughts of religions.

Religions are designed the way they are and shall be working to achieve their goal through hypnotizing the people. Their stings carry the virus of God which need be eliminated to save the humanity. It is like fighting malaria by making mosquitoes devoid of the malaria infection.

The Religion Virus: Why we believe in God: An evolutionist explains religion's incredible hold on humanityReligions have negative consequences on intelligence and personality through suppressing curiosity of the human brain. A brain without curiosity is a brain without a sting and hence is ineffective. Religions instill supernatural things in the minds in place of natural things and their scientific explanations - the backbones of human civilization.

All theists hate scientific and logical arguments in understanding nature while keep on enjoying the fruits of scientific thinking in their daily living. Thus, theists are the most ungrateful creatures on this earth.

Probability or Purpose?: How do your religiously infected friends explain this?

Zahra Baker was a 10 year old girl from North Carolina. Her parents divorced, her father had custody. A bone cancer survivor, she had her leg amputated and lost part of her hearing as a side effect, but by all accounts was a happy and well adjusted little girl. Missing for weeks, her prosthetic leg and part of her remains were discovered not far from her home. Her stepmother who admitted writing a fake ransom note is now the primary suspect in her murder, possibly aided by the child’s father.

I heard this report for the first time this morning. I was appalled that so much sorrow, pain, and horror could be condensed into the ten short years of that child’s life.

As a realist I understand it however. Divorce is rampant, with almost 50% of marriages ending in separation. Childhood cancer is a fact of life affecting approximately two out of every ten thousand children in the US each year roughly 0.02% of children. The horrific acts of abuse, violence, and inhumanity against children, while inexplicable to most of us, are an unfortunate reality. The murder of children under the age of 15 years old represents approximately 1,300 / 6% of US murders annually. A child has approximately 0.00014% chance of being murdered.

The odds of any one child experiencing what Zahra Baker went through are beyond my ability to calculate. Sadly, Zahra was the loser in a trifecta of astronomical statistical improbably. But that is exactly what it was

So how do religionists explain this? Can they dismiss this as a horrific statistical reality born of a convergence of random natural occurrences? No…they cannot… not even if they want to. Because according to doctrine their god has a “purpose” for every person. Their loving god, who watches over his creations with unlimited beneficence; a god who answers the prayers of believers, doesn’t play with random statistics. Everything is by it’s design, even Zahra's miserable life and death.

So what will they say if you were to ask them what god’s purpose was for this little girl’s birth, suffering and ultimate death? There aren’t a lot of options from which they can choose. While apologists have written several million words trying to explain away why their god permits these things to happen to innocents, it always boils down to the vapid platitudes that believers have adopted in lieu of thought to avoid coming to grips with reality: “God works in strange and mysterious ways.”, “It’s all part of God’s plan, who are we to understand it?”, “God needed her in heaven.”, “God wanted her to experience the ultimate pain in order to appreciate the ultimate happiness.”, “She’s in a better place.”, and the ever handy “Free will!” whatever the hell that means. Sometimes they will dig really deep and proffer that “God is a good and loving God.”, as though that explains/ excuses it all.

Want to know how deeply your theist friends have swallowed the Kool Aid of unquestioning religious non-think? Want to gauge exactly how encompassing is their self delusion and surrender to vacuous apologetics? Want to witness what complete abandonment of reality sounds like? Ask them to explain Zahra Baker, then stand back and watch the dance of denial.

Islam+Government=Cruelty
How much can we respect religion? I don't mean religious people, they're people and they deserve respect. But does a belief deserve respect? And what does it mean to respect a belief?

In Pakistan, a nuclear threat to the world frequently referred to as the most dangerous nation on Earth, is a violent Islamic theocracy. Like any nation controlled by dogma, the people, the actual living human beings, come second to the superstition. In America, we are free because our government doesn't (ideally) favor any religion. Of course, more than often it does favor a particular brand of Christianity, but at least the U.S. government has enough checks and balances to keep religion from directly running everything with a iron fist. It's not just that Islam is cruel or Christianity is cruel, they both are viciously cruel, but in America, the people come first. In Pakistan and Iran and Saudi Arabia and other nations where religion rules, superstition comes first. Nonsense comes first. And when something other than the people come first, any cost is justifiable.

Add that misplaced priority to this: If you believe in one religion, you reject all others. So if a Christian lives in a society where Islam rules, that Christian is an insult to the god (what's it's ridiculous name? Oh, right, allahlalalalalalalala).

So we've got a dangerous nation who puts a silly ancient story above caring for people, plus an individual which threatens the society by having a different religion; it equals this:

Asia Bibi, a 45-year-old mother-of-five, denies blasphemy and told investigators that she was being persecuted for her faith in a country where Christians face routine harassment and discrimination.
Christian groups and human rights campaigners condemned the verdict and called for the blasphemy laws to be repealed.
Her supporters say she will now appeal against the sentence handed down in a local court in the town of Sheikhupura, near Lahore, Pakistan.
Ashiq Masih, her husband, said he had not had the heart to break the news to two of their children.
"I haven't told two of my younger daughters about the court's decision," he said. "They asked me many times about their mother but I can't get the courage to tell them that the judge has sentenced their mother to capital punishment for a crime she never committed." Mrs Bibi has been held in prison since June last year.
The court heard she had been working as a farmhand in fields with other women, when she was asked to fetch drinking water.
Some of the other women – all Muslims – refused to drink the water as it had been brought by a Christian and was therefore "unclean", according to Mrs Bibi's evidence, sparking a row.
Not to mention, it's not just Christians that societies oppressed by Islam hate. They'd kill me too for blogging about atheism.

In the West Bank town of Qalqiliya, 26 year-old Walid Husayin was arrested for not believing in God. While the West Bank is predominantly Muslim, the Palestinian Authority which governs the region is known as being one of the most liberal in the Arab world and supports a more secular government and yet now Husayin faces life in prison and possibly the death penalty for being an atheist.

Walid Husayin is a blogger and has created a facebook account under a false name in which he wrote some critical things about Islam and Allah. He even created several facebook groups mocking the dominant religion in his town. In one group, he jokingly claimed to be God and instructed followers to smoke marijuana.

Keep this in mind the next time someone tries to suggest that government should be influenced by religion.
